Electric Fireplace Inserts
If you don't have a fireplace installation in your home, there are free standing electric fireplaces that can give you the look and feel of a fireplace without the commitment of space and the need for a chimney that you associate with a traditional wood burning unit. But even if you already have a brick fireplace that you use to burn wood in, there are some valid reasons to consider making the switch to an electric unit. The logs are made to look real and that glow emits a gentle and pleasant warmth that is transmitted into the room evenly and safely.
There is no clean up when you are using an electric fireplace unit and you never have to replace the "logs". Starting your fire is as simple as flipping a switch and you don’t have to worry about letting the fire burn after you go to bed. You can "put out" the fireplace just by unplugging it or let it glow all night. There is no danger the fire will escape the fireplace when the logs are using electric fuel instead of wood.
These are convincing reasons to consider making the change away from a wood burning fireplace to using an electric fueled insert for your evening fires in the fireplace. In fact, the family may like it more because with all the fuss and mess of fires in the fireplace removed, you can have a fire every night of the week.
